Liz & Ben are some of the sweetest people I’ve ever worked with! It was a cold and windy winter day for this sweet couple’s engagement session but they just radiated so much love and happiness. I can’t wait for tomorrow to shoot their wedding at Cabell’s Mill. Rain or shine, their wedding is going to be pretty awesome.

I feel honored to know this lovely family and captured their sweet moments with their 5 month-old daughter, baby Cadence. Enjoy their beautiful pictures taken this past Fall!
The couple chose a Quaker ceremony which I learned it defines as a silent ceremony where there is no officiant, no giving away of the bride. A wedding certificate is signed and there is a period of silent worship . After a period of silence the couple stands and says their vows to each other and exchanges rings. Then everyone shakes hands and all guests have to also sign their marriage certificate. At a Quaker ceremony, no photos can be taken at all during the meeting. So I got to sit in the back with my second shooter and we both felt a little bit overwhelming.
To be honest, this was such a privilege of attending my first Quaker wedding ever. I had to say it was one of the most beautiful and family-oriented ceremonies I’d ever been to.

That day proved to be one of the coldest ones that week, but our small team of photographers and our models braved the frigid temperatures to give us this beautiful styled shoot. One of our styled shoots featuring Amanda, our model, in a gorgeous fur coat was my favorite one. I can’t lie, there is nothing more fabulous than a fur coat. A bride on her wedding day is always beautiful, not just because of the fancy dress and professional hair and makeup, but because she radiates love and joy. I understand some brides love to have their bridal portraits taken a few weeks before their wedding, so they can have a photo of the bride get displayed at the wedding. Some brides don’t feel like to do their pre-wedding day bridal portraits by considering the fact that it would be a waste of money and time.
On a wedding day, I like to start the day with the bridal portrait session after capturing some moments of the bride getting ready. I LOVE bridal portrait sessions! I think this is one of my favorite things to photograph. There is nothing better than to photograph the Bride on her wedding day when she still looks fresh, excited and feels like a princess.
My advice to the future brides on your bridal portrait session, just relax and enjoy being in the moment and feeling special for the day.

The thought of rain on your wedding day may seem like a natural disaster for most brides, especially those with outdoor weddings. It is completely understandable to be disappointed, but my advice is to embrace the rain in such a way and have some ideas for how to make it more fun, exciting and sweetly unique.
We did have such a blast on Gwen & Mike’s wedding back in the Spring. It rained so much but we didn’t care and all their outdoor photos were with umbrellas. So, no need to fear rain!

A couple of weeks before my boys went back to school we took some time to snap a few “back to school” pics at the park. I intend to make this shoot as a yearly back to school event for us. As a photographer and mom, having the beautiful pictures of my boys to document such an important milestone in their lives is really important for me and for my sense of memory.
We had a lot of fun that day and my boys were really into the shoot which just makes my job easy! Enjoy..
Farrin and Daniel are a super sweet couple and full of love for life and each other. These two lovebirds are getting married tomorrow and I cannot wait for their special moment.
I would love to share a look back at my favorite images from their engagement session in Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden where they’ll be getting married tomorrow. The photo shoot started out just like any other fun engagement session with decent weather, unfortunately we had to end the shoot when the big rain started to pour down. Although we had a short amount of time for the shoot, we took some lovely images at 3 or 4 different locations in the garden.
Back 2 years ago when I started my wedding photography business by accident, I wish I would do it earlier. After photographing a first wedding, I was in love with the workflow and the photos. I mostly shot family, children and newborns before 2014 and had never attended any photography workshop but online classes.
I’ve seen and read so many people grow at workshops which I think this should be one of important things to invest in wedding industry. In 2014 before I shot my first time wedding, I signed up for a CLIC conference/workshop that I believe was the best investment so far. Apart from learning so much about the wedding business from some creatives, I also loved meeting and learning from the group of different photographers. The styling, instruction and general overall flow of the workshop was all amazing! Enjoy the pictures..
